Argento, Bonarda 2013, Mendoza, Argentina, Wine Casual

Argento, Bonarda 2013, Mendoza, Argentina

Tasting Note: An impressive example of the bonarda grape varietal that delivers complex aromatics and rich fruit flavors.

Deep-intensity ruby in color this wine has an inviting and perfume-like, aromatic nose of black plum, rhubarb, violet and red cherry.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied bonarda displays concentration while echoing fruit flavors suggested on the nose.

The wine has a smooth texture with some moments of velvetiness supported by ripe, slightly-grippy, medium-plus tannin.

There is balance between the fruit and tannin as well as midpalate complexity.

Among the best of bonardas you can find in the U.S., particularly at this wallet-friendly price point.

Bottle Note: This smooth and fragrant bonarda offers fresh raspberry fruit flavors and a soft round finish. Wine has been made in Mendoza for centuries. Today we know how to get the best results. Our vines respond well to high altitudes, a cool climate and the natural source of mountain water straight from the Andes. This superb Bonarda offers an intense nose of fresh raspberries with light floral notes. Ripe red berry fruit flavors are combined with a touch of violet and lead into a soft, round finish.
