Cakebread Cellars, Cabernet Sauvignon 2012, Napa Valley California

Tasting Note: A cabernet sauvignon for those who enjoy understated complexity.

Purple in color, this wine has a nose of muted, medium-intensity black fruit along with black plum, blueberry and some vanilla aromas.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied cabernet sauvignon delivers well-integrated medium-plus tannin and black fruit.

A mellow cabernet that recedes into the background with concentrated, yet muted, black fruit that displays some midpalate complexity.

Bottle Note: Our 2012 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is a classic blend of 84% cabernet sauvignon, 6% each merlot and cabernet franc and 4% petit verdot grown in superior vineyards throughout the valley. Picture-perfect growing conditions in 2012 including warm summer days and cool nights, fostered steady, even ripening and an ideal balance of sugars and acidity. This sumptuous, elegant and complex cabernet sauvignon, aged 18 months in French oak barrels, is a delicious accompaniment to food and will age gracefully in bottle through 2022.
