Catina Tramin, Stoan 2014, Alto Adige, Italy, Wine Casual

Catina Tramin, Stoan 2014, Alto Adige, Italy

Tasting Note: An enjoyable white blend from the Alto Adige German-speaking part of Italy.

This golden-colored white wine has an aromatic, dried rose-petal nose.

The wine presents as a floral white with a gewürztraminer back.

Aromas continue to the palate as flavors with dried rose petal flavors in the lead.

Bottle Note: Stoan is a blend of chardonnay (70%), sauvignon (20%), pinot bianco (5%), and gewürztraminer (5%) and is sourced from high elevation vineyards near Tramin. The name “Stoan” = stone reflects the minerality of this wine vinified in large oak barrels for weight and texture. Pair with suckling pig, white fish and cheeses.
