Tasting Note: A black-and-red-fruit-dominated merlot with pleasing baking spice.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a nose of black plum, red cherry and some smokiness as well as clove-and-vanilla baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied merlot is smooth and plush in texture with medium acidity and medium tannin.

Bottle Note: Poised above the Columbia River on a south-facing slope, this vineyard is distinctive for its blustery, dramatic views. Following two cool vintages, 2012 was finally warmer with mother nature on our side. Bloom, veraison, harvest aligned perfectly producing a merlot of elegance and pure fruit expression.
