Concho Y Toro, Marques Casa de Casa Concha, Cabernet Sauvignon 2015, Maipo, Chile

Tasting Note: A cabernet lover’s cabernet.

Deep purple-to-ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of blackberry, black currant, black cherry, stewed fig and vanilla baking spice.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied cabernet shows concentrated ripe black fruit with velvety, medium-plus tannin.

The wine plays towards your mid-palate through to a long finish laced with vanilla and some notes of smokiness.

There is complexity of flavor, and balance between the fruit and tannin character.

Powerful.

Bottle Note: This cabernet sauvignon special reserve was created in tribute to the title conferred in 1718 by King Phillip V of Spain upon the Concha Y Toro’s family. Of a very limited production from our Puente Alto and Pirque vineyards in the Maipo Valley. This cabernet sauvignon embodies Concha y Toro’s tradition in the art of winemaking. This cabernet sauvignon comes from the Puente Alo and Pirque vineyards, located close to the foothills of the Andes Mountains in the Maipo Valley. The rocky soils are alluvial in origin, poor in nutrients, and highly permeable due to the abundance of gravel in the subsoil. This limited-production Cabernet Sauvignon features black fruit aromas, highlights concentrated flavors, firm tannins, and a smooth texture.
