Conte Priola, Pinot Noir 2014, Delle Venezie IGT, Italy

Tasting Note: A basic, food-friendly pinot noir that would pair well with Italian food and dishes that need wine with acidity to cleanse the palate in between bites.

Ruby in color this wine has a nose of red cherry, blackberry, and strawberry with some hints of vanilla.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied red is velvety in texture with aromas on the nose continuing as flavors with red cherry in the lead.

The pinot noir is medium-plus in acidity.

While the pinot noir aspects of this wine are understated, the wine does show well as a basic Italian red.

Bottle Note: This pinot noir from Conte Priola offers a silky smooth texture on the palate. The aromas and flavors are brimming with cherry and bright red berry fruit. This well-balanced, easy-drinking red is lovely with an array of lighter food choices or very enjoyable on its own.
