Delas Freres, Chante-Perdrix Cornas 2013, Rhone, France

Tasting Note: Reds from Cornas are always 100% syrah so you can always be assured you are getting the purest form of this famous Northern Rhone grape varietal when you indulge – including this bottle which impresses with elegance, complexity and depth of flavor.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a pronounced, aromatic nose of violet, raspberry, black plum, bramble and vanilla.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied syrah is soft and velvety in texture with ripe, medium-plus tannin showing on the finish.

Aromas evolve in your glass over the course of the evening – if you allow the wine to last that long.
