Esporao, Colheita Red 2017, Vinho Regional Alentejano, Portugal, Wine Casual

Esporao, Colheita Red 2017, Vinho Regional Alentejano, Portugal

Tasting Note: Sometimes you want a red wine that has ripe fruit, north-of-medium tannin and balance, and this red blend from Portugal hits that spot.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, blackberry, raspberry preserve, black cherry, blueberry and violet.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied red blend is filled with medium-plus-intensity, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and velvety, ripe, medium-plus tannin.

There is midpalate complexity and balance between the fruit and tannin structure.

Pairs well with summer, especially when served chilled.

Bottle Note: Herdade do Esporao, located near Reguengos de Monsaraz, maintains its boundaries unchanged since 1267. Our viticulture results in the production of high quality grapes, without the use of chemical products that can prejudice soil quality and our own health. Innovative tulip shaped porous tanks, in our new “Lagres” winery, preserve the principal characteristics of the wines made from these vineyards. Since 1985, Esporao maintains its commitment to produce the finest wines that nature provides, in the most responsible and inspiring way possible. Wine made from grapes grown on at Esporao estate. Partially aged in tulip shaped tanks.
