Exitus Bourbon Barrel Aged Red Wine 2017 – A Smooth-Bodied Combo Experience

Exitus, Bourbon Barrel Aged Red Wine 2017, California, Wine Casual

Exitus, Bourbon Barrel Aged Red Wine 2017, California

Tasting Note: A bourbon-barrel-aged red wine that combines ripe fruit and baking spice creating a smooth-bodied combo experience.

Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity nose of red plum, red cherry, strawberry, peach stonefruit, raspberry, leather and clove baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied wine is creamy in texture with medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose along with some hints of tobacco, maple and cedar box.

The wine is medium in acidity with slightly-velvety, medium tannin.

There is balance between the fruit and oak barrel notes, such that the bourbon does not overwhelm the wine character.

The perfect wine to surprise a red-wine lover who also enjoys bourbon.

Bottle Note: “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire.” – unknown. Smoky intensity and robust layers of dark fruit, plum, toasty oak and spice. Fueled by a desire to forge our own path, Exitus is an international departure from the ordinary. This wine has been matured using methods reserved for top shelf spirits. Batch 0002, Vintage 2017. Aged for 3 months in Bourbon barrels.
