Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard, HJW Vineyard Riesling 2013, Finger Lakes, New York

Tasting Note: An aged Finger Lakes riesling that shows the grape has ageability potential in New York state.

Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity, aromatic nose of tart-green apple slice, bosc pear, lemon-citrus peel, quince, guava, blossom and white peach.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied riesling has a creamy texture with medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose.

The wine is medium in acidity with a round mouthfeel supported by an undercurrent of citrus.

Bottle Note: Hermann J. Wiemer Vineyard combines Old World tradition with New World innovation, hand-crafting elegant, well-balanced wines. Our ecologically conscious viticulture highlights the distinct qualities of our premier vineyard sites. This site-specific wine captures the minerality of the gravelly topsoil in our thirty-year-old HJW Vineyard, resulting in a vibrant structure with aging potential. Vineyard Site: 100% HJW Vineyard.
