Hoopes Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2003 – A Magnum Worthy of the Sticker Price

Tasting Note: A library, cabernet sauvignon magnum worthy of its sticker price.

This wine has a nose of red plum, blackberry, black cherry, and red fruit with hints of fig and subtle vanilla spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied cabernet sauvignon reveals its age and shows how Napa Valley cab can mellow over time.

The fruit-forwardness is still there but underpinned by midpalate complexity and a slightly-velvety mouthfeel.

Bottle Note: Our label is simple & light hearted. But our cabernet sauvignon is serious, complex, and earthy. The “earth” is our 10-acre family vineyard in Napa Valley’s Oakville appellation. Surely one of the world’s most prized areas for growing cabernet sauvignon. Our very limited yields result in superb aromatics, strikingly rich and brilliant flavors with full soft tannins. Let us know if our wine pleased you.
