Tasting Note: Who says Beaujolais Nouveau doesn’t age?

Not me after tasting this 2016 vintage in 2018. Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red cherry, banana, kirsch and bubble gum.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied Beaujolais delivers flavors suggested on the nose with tart fruit, medium-plus acidity, and a red-cherry-infused medium finish.

This wine has more concentration than what you typically expect from gamay.

A lovely Beaujolais period.

Bottle Note: The 2016, Beaujolais Nouveau, the first wine of the new vintage, has arrived! Time to enjoy and celebrate the harvest with this charming wine! Filled with flavorful berry notes, Beaujolais Nouveau will delight your palate. It is best served slightly chilled and in spirited company. So raise a glass to the harvest and experience the wine event of the year!
