Just Red, Shiraz Viognier 2018, Granite Belt, Queensland, Australia
Tasting Note: This syrah-viognier blend tastes like a northern-Rhone syrah with perfumed aromatics coupled with just-ripened fruit.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of bramble, black plum, dried violet blossom, strawberry and black-cherry jam.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied blend has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and slightly-grippy, well-integrated, medium-plus tannin.
The viognier imparts elegant florality.
Bottle Note: Our shiraz viognier has been produced in the traditional method by co-fermenting shiraz with a small portion of viognier grapes (7%). An elegant perfumed wine with a complex mélange of red and black fruit aromas with a hint of pepper. Rich on the palate with lingering silky tannins. It is a suitable match for most meat dishes and will particularly suit duck, chicken, pork, venison or lamb.
