L’Avenir, Provenance Chenin Blanc 2017, Stellenbosch, South Africa

Tasting Note: A good introduction to South African chenin blanc.

Medium-intensity lemon color, this wine has a nose of green apple, pear and white blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied chenin blanc has flavor concentration and a medium-plus length.

There is pure expression of fruit.

Bottle Note: With rolling slopes, cooling maritime breezes, mountainous backdrops, fertile soils, gentle rains and hours of sunshine. Stellenbosch is the perfect place to grow wines of excellence featuring this chenin blanc. A full palate abundant with rich flavors of ripe pineapple, juicy pear and melon combined with delicate honey and toasted almond from partial fermentation in oak barrels. The gentle acidity ensures this wine remains refreshing and crisp and an ideal accompaniment to seafood on a sun-filled summer’s day.
