Tasting Note: Cabernet franc is a curious creature in different climates, and this expression reveals another beguiling take on this beloved grape.

Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, chocolate shavings, raspberry puree, dried violet leaf and dried blackberry.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied cabernet franc delivers concentrated, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and red fruit on the medium-plus finish.

There is midpalate concentration that is obtuse at points even as it comes into more equilibrium on your back palate.

Cab-franc nerds in your life will appreciate the terroir lesson, but prepare them that this is not Loire in style and definitely more new-world with ripe fruit expression.
