Tasting Note: A winning, cabernet-sauvignon-and-cabernet-franc blend from Tuscany.

Medium-intensity ruby in color, this wine has a nose of red fruit, farmyard, red cherry and raspberry.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied red blend delivers flavors suggested on the nose supported by ripe, well-integrated, medium-plus tannin.

Bottle Note: The Mazzei Marquis, proprietors of Castello di Fonterutoli since 2435, were among the first to discover the potential for fine wine in the Tuscan Maremma. Produced from selected cabernet sauvignon and cabernet franc grapes, and aged for approximately eighteen months in small oak barrels, this assertive and elegant cru is the maximum expression of the estate. 90% cabernet sauvignon, 10% cabernet franc.
