Monte da Ravasqueira, Branco 2014, Vinho Regional Alentejo, Portugal, Wine Casual

Monte da Ravasqueira, Branco 2014, Vinho Regional Alentejo, Portugal

Tasting Note: A white blend of Viognier, Alvarinho, Semillon and Arinto that would pair well with many a meal, especially seafood.

Medium-intensity lemon color, this wine has a nose of green apple, quince and Sweetheart’s candy.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied white blend delivers flavors suggested on the nose with tart, green fruit, minerality and chalk on the finish.

There is some mid-palate complexity that ultimately completes with a medium-plus finish.

Bottle Note: Genuinely “Alentejo,” Monte da Ravasqueira perpetuates the experience of the inherited culture; a tranquil life, a taste for companionship, the richness of the local cuisine and the art of wine. A fantastic year 2014 and a perfect balance of the MR wines allowed this blend to show the full expression of their characteristics. Mineral and fresh notes, creamy volume and persistence. It is ideal with pastas and salads, seafood, and light meats or on its own.
