Olga Raffault Chinon 2015 – A Loire Valley Chinon at its Best

Olga Raffault, Chinon 2015, Loire, France

Tasting Note: A Loire-valley Chinon at its best and one of the finest bottles and vintages of Olga Raffault cabernet franc I’ve had the pleasure to enjoy.

Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, pencil shavings, forest floor, dried raspberry, a hint of grass, and black tea leaf.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Chinon delivers flavors suggested on the nose with a smooth texture supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium-plus tannin.

There is mid-palate complexity, concentration and varietal typicity.
