Plaisir de Merle, Petit Verdot 2015, Paarl, South Africa

Tasting Note: A sensual petit verdot that shows the softer side of this potent Bordeaux varietal.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a nose of red plum, red cherry, violet and blackberry.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied petit verdot is smooth in texture with ripe, well-integrated, medium-plus tannin.

There is red-and-black-fruit flavor concentration along with some clove spice in the background.

Bottle Note: A deep ruby wine with aromas of berry fruit touched by vanilla following through to the palate dripping with black currants, dark chocolate and spice. It is a complex wine with robust tannins.
