Protea Chenin Blanc 2014 – Loads of Mid-Palate Complexity

Protea, Chenin Blanc 2014, Western Cape, South Africa, Wine Casual

Protea, Chenin Blanc 2014, Western Cape, South Africa

Tasting Note: A chenin blanc from South Africa that shows concentration of fruit and loads of midpalate complexity.

Medium-intensity lemon in color this wine has an aromatic nose of apricot, banana, blossom and ripe green melon.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied chenin blanc shows angular, ripe and concentrated green and yellow fruit.

The finish is long and laced with honey.

The wine is medium-plus in flavor intensity and acidity.

A wine that could age nicely, but can be consumed now.

Bottle Note: To make our protea white, our winemakers step smartly aside and allow the essence of the remarkable, too often unappreciated chenin blanc grape to arrive in the glass with rich fruit and verve. Protea is on a mission to make wines that dare to be exotic and beautiful, in every way imaginable. We’ve broken new ground by offering our uniquely delicious wines in designer-crafted bottles you won’t forget – and won’t want to discard. Aromas of pear, citrus, honeysuckle.
