Raats Family Wines, Family Cabernet Franc 2014, Stellenbosch, South Africa
Tasting Note: Outstanding!
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, pencil shavings, graphite, forest floor violet and cedar.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied cabernet franc has flavor concentration and depth.
Only 6,000 bottles made and aged 18 months in French oak (1/3 new French oak).
Bottle Note: The Raats Family cabernet franc reflects the lifelong passion Bruwer Raats has for this unique variety. Made by him from handpicked grapes with great attention to every detail and grown in decomposed dolomite granite, this wine is the very definition of elegance and complexity – a benchmark for cabernet franc. We trust that you will share and appreciate the passion which went into the crafting of each bottle. Raats Family cabernet franc pairs extremely well with red meat dishes, our favorites being beef filet, game birds and venison.
