Ravines Cabernet Franc 2015 – Well-Made with Lots of Purple Fruit

Ravines, Cabernet Franc 2015, Finger Lakes, New York, Wine Casual

Ravines, Cabernet Franc 2015, Finger Lakes, New York

Tasting Note: A well-made Finger Lakes cabernet franc with body and lots of purple fruit.

Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, pencil shavings, and kirsch.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cabernet franc delivers flavors suggested on the nose with medium acidity and ripe, slightly-grippy, medium tannin.

The wine is balanced.  See 2013 review.

Bottle Note: Ravines Wine Cellars rests on a hillside overlooking glacier-carved Seneca Lake in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York State. Our cool growing season, sloped vineyard sites and moderating effects of the deep lakes create ideal conditions for producing vibrant, balanced and food-friendly wines. We are a small, family-owned winery dedicated to the craft of fine, classical winemaking, wines that express the unique qualities of the vineyard sites, the growing season, and the wine maker’s vision. Ravines Cabernet Franc is deliciously fruit-forward and spicy with perfect balance, soft tannins and a round mouthfeel.
