Robert Stein, Half Dry RS15 Riesling 2018, Mudgee, New South Wales, Australia

Tasting Note: Mudgee riesling with minerality and body.

Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of pear, quince, green apple, lemon citrus and blossom.

On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied riesling has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose along with some chalk on the midpalate.

The wine is medium-plus in acidity and is balanced, yet reserved with a nod towards the old world.

Bottle Note: Johann Stein arrived in Australia in 1838 bringing with him select cuttings and viticultural expertise to supervise operations at Macarthur’s Camden vineyards. Generations of winemaking experience are evident in the Robert Stein portfolio of regional wines. This single vineyard half dry riesling was handpicked in the early morning from the bottom half of our riesling block and whole bunch pressed. Classic riesling, with lime and citrus notes, the ferment was stopped early, leaving 15 grams residential sugar and finishing with a fresh natural acidity. Winemaker, Jacob Stein.
