Scharffenberger Brut – A Balanced Sparkler with a Citrus Kick

Scharffenberger Brut, Mendocino County, California, Wine Casual

Scharffenberger Brut, Mendocino County, California

Tasting Note: An enjoyable, balanced sparkling wine with a citrus kick.

Pale lemon in color this sparkler has a nose of toast, yeast, lemon peel and pear all lifted by tight, prickly bubbles.

On the palate the wine is medium in body with medium-plus acidity showing on the attack followed by toasty, citrusy, caramel notes that maintain through to the finish.

And at 12% alcohol, you can have a second glass without guilt.

Bottle Note: The history of Scharffenberger Cellars begins in 1981 in the village of Philo, in the heart of California’s Anderson Valley. This beautiful artisan winery surrounded by spectacular vineyards is situated only miles from the Pacific Coast. It enjoys the sunshine of the protected valley and the cool fog from the ocean; the ideal scenario for producing a highly rated sparkling wine, among the very best in America.
