Tasting Note: An elegant nebbiolo from California that should give Piemonte winemakers pause.

Medium-intensity ruby with developing garnet around the edges, this wine has an aromatic nose of red cherry, rose petal, red plum, blossom with a light notes of vanilla baking spice.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied nebbiolo is smooth and creamy in texture underpinned by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin.

Aromas on the nose continue to the palate as red-fruit flavors.

The wine displays midpalate concentration and balance between the fruit and carefully, underlaid tannin structure.

Bottle Note: Sunce is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County – specializing in small artisan lots of vineyard designated varietal wine and classic blends. Three clones make up this brilliant Barolo-style wine. The Lampia clone, the Michet, and what the grower Lowell Stone refers to as the Bra clone. Statistically speaking, this wine can have the perfect balance of tannin, acid and ph. It is said that this beauty can touch places on the palate that haven’t been touched, spreading farther across the tongue and roof of one’s mouth. Pair with delicate fare of veal or portobello mushrooms with fine, savory sauces. This will make a splendid accompaniment to a special meal without overwhelming the food, bringing out the subtle spices of the cuisine, while whetting and cleansing the palate between bites. Only 8 barrels made.
