Tasting Note: A barbera from Sunce that expresses the best of what this high acid, Italian grape varietal can achieve in the hands of a skilled winemaker.

Deep ruby and nearly opaque in color, this barbera has a nose of red and black cherry and black currant with notes of vanilla and clove baking spice.

On the palate the dry, concentrated red is medium-plus in body with high acidity that rests on top of the red and black fruit flavors that continue from the nose.

The silky-textured barbera displays mid-palate complexity that culminates with fig and red cherry on the finish.

The wine shows balance between its fruit character and acidity in a way the best captures what the barbera grape varietal has to offer.

Bottle Note: Sunce is a family winery located in the Russian River Valley appellation of Sonoma County. We specialize in small artisan lots of varietal wine and classic blends. “To find eternity in a grain of sand or in a drop of wine.” The hardwork and patience that winegrowers Eric and Cynthia Olof bring to their vineyard is fully expressed in this 100% Barbera. A vibrantly spiced wine that begs for a good meal with good friends. Opoulent cherry and plum fruit surrounded by a velvety mouthfeel layered by hints of dark deep berry, cinnamon spice and vanilla. Only 12 barrels made.
