Vietti Tre Vigne, Barbera D’Asti 2014 DOCG, Piemonte, Italy

Tasting Note: The most premium Barbera produced in Italy comes from the Asti region in Piemonte where the grape matures on the best southern-facing hill sites.

This bottle of barbera provides a good example of the grape thriving in its element.

Medium-intensity purple in color, this aromatic wine has a nose of raspberry, strawberry, black plum and hints of chocolate with vanilla and clove baking spice.

On the palate the dry, full-bodied barbera reveals red and black fruit flavors suggested on the nose underpinned by high acidity.

The wine has structure and mid-palate complexity with tart, yet ripe fruit notes running throughout the length of the taste through to a medium-plus finish.

The barbera has a velvety texture and would pair well with a myriad of dishes.

Bottle Note: The Vietti winery, now operated by our family’s fourth generation, is located in the tiny medieval village of Castiglione Falletto in the heart of the famous Piemontese wine region. Here we vinify and patiently age our hand-crafted wines, the products of a unique combination of sun and soil. Unfiltered. Vegan.
