Domaine de la Noblaie, Blanc 2014, Chinon, France
Tasting Note: A chenin blanc from Chinon that has bite, body, complexity and green fruit that pleases the senses all-around.
Medium-intensity lemon in color this wine has an aromatic nose of green apple, honeysuckle, blossom, bosc pear and lemon zest.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied wine echoes green fruit and floral flavors suggested on the nose with a smooth texture and more body than one normally expects from chenin blanc.
There is mid-palate complexity and balance between the fruit intensity and medium-plus tannin.
A chenin blanc beautifully executed.
Bottle Note: This small-production bottling has been hand-selected by Jon-David Headrick for its expression of terroir and unique character. This rare bottle of white Chinon is one of only 1,000 bottles imported to the United States. It was harvested by hand in multiple passes through the vines. 100% Chenin Blanc.
