9diDante, Inferno Rosso Vermouth di Torino Superiore, Italy
Tasting Note: Ruby in color with tinges of garnet around the edges, this vermouth has an aromatic and spice-filled nose of baked red cherry, cinnamon stick, fennel, ginger, dried hay, blackberry, fig and raspberry tart.
The wine is full-bodied and gentle on palate as a red-fruit and baking-spice blend along with hints of cranberry and dried orange peel.
This vermouth would add depth as a mixer but could be easily enjoyed by itself on the rocks as an aperitif before dinner or as a night cap after a meal.
This is the good stuff!
Bottle Note: Handcrafted in the Piedmont Hills of Northern, Italy, Inferno blends the rich and distinct character of twenty-seven botanicals including these nine that guide us through Dante’s 9 circles of Hell. Circle I – Limbo, Artemisa Absinthium. Circle II – Lust, Cardamom. Circle III – Gluttony, Bitter Orange Peel. Circle IV – Greed, Cumin. Circle V – Anger, Basil. Circle VI – Heresy, Nettle. Circle VII – Violence, Tansy. Circle VIII – Fraud, Fennel. Circle IX – Treachery, Caraway.
