Leroy, Bourgogne Rouge, Burgundy, France
Tasting Note: A red Burgundy with body, fruit and the earthy qualities you desire most from the pinot noir grape in its hallowed habitat.
Medium-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of red cherry, black plum, kirsch, strawberry with tertiary cedar, earth and wet leaf aromas.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied pinot noir echoes red fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with medium-plus flavor intensity.
The fruit is supported by medium-plus acidity and soft, well-integrated medium-plus tannin along with earthiness in the midpalate through to a wet leaf, mushroom and red-cherry infused finish.
Bottle Note: This wine was either bottled by ourselves in the traditional way or when deemed worthy of the “Leroy Label”, bought in bottle from the winemaker. It may contain a noble and natural sediment at one point in its evolution. This is a sign that the wine is alive. Preventing the formation of sediment by filtration or any other means is to take away life and character. This bottle should be stored at a temperature between 53°F and 60°F and at a hygrometry rate of 80 to 85% minimum. Only these two conditions are met can the wine reach its full potential.
