Agharta Wines, Red 2007, North Coast, California
Tasting Note: If you haven’t tasted a lot of North-Coast, California syrah, this bottle will show you how cool morning fogs that roll in during the morning, and burn off in the afternoon can produce syrah with concentration and complexity.
Deep-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of black plum, raspberry compote, bramble and vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied syrah displays just-ripened, black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose with ripe, velvety, medium-plus tannin.
There is mid-palate complexity and flavor concentration that completes with a medium-plus, black-plum infused finish with hints of ginger and vanilla baking spice.
Yum.
