Antonin Rodet, Chateau de Rully Blanc 2013, Cote Chalonnaise, Burgundy, France
Tasting Note: A straightforward, well-made chardonnay from Rully in the Cote Chalonnaise.
Medium-intensity lemon in color this wine has a nose of green apple, blossom, lemon citrus and hints of vanilla and clove baking spice.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied chardonnay has a smooth texture with lemon citrus on the attack evolving into green fruit flavors and ending with only a hint of oak.
The wine is bright, fresh and clean and shows some traces of mid-palate complexity.
Bottle Note: This estate was once a fortress whose origins date back to the 12th Century. Approximately 80% of its vineyards’ production is white and 20% red. Over one third of the wines are classified as Premier Cru. The wines from this legendary estate in the Rully appellation are elegant, fine and aromatic.
