Bagueri, Ribolla Gialla 2013, Primorska, Slovenia
Tasting Note: A sultry Slovenian white wine with wonderful, ripe-golden fruit and bready notes from the curious ribolla gialla grape.
Medium-intensity gold in color, this wine has an aromatic, pronounced-intensity nose of white peach, quince, candied green apple, lemon citrus, brioche and caramel with hints of vanilla baking spice.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied white wine has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a long, peach-and-brioche-filled finish.
The wine is creamy in texture and there is midpalate complexity and depth of flavor that runs throughout the entire length of the taste.
Clearly in the right hands, the ribolla gialla grape does wonders.
