Bellwether, Cherry Street Hard Cider, New York
Tasting Note: This cider tastes like Thanksgiving and Christmas rolled into one.
Bellwether’s red-cherry-colored apple cider sparkles with bubbles clinging to the side of your glass.
Apples were fermented separately and cherry was added on top after fermentation.
The fruit of the cherry takes center sage and stars in this cider but yet doesn’t define the character of the cider which rests on a firm foundation of dry apple. Who could have thought of such a smart, winning combination?
There is also cinnamon-apple cherry and slight green/golden raisin.
A unique cider – something to bring to a cider lover who prefers dry-styled forward ciders and would appreciate trying something different.
Bottle Note: A semi-sweet, sparkling cider made from a variety of New York grown apples and Montmorency cherries. A crisp apple taste on the front end gives way to the spectacular tartness of sour cherry on the finish. Naturally gluten free. Bellwether is a small, family-owned farm winery.
