Bellwether Wine Cellars, Dry Rosé 2014, Finger Lakes, New York
Tasting Note: An aged rosé that is very cabernet-franc expressive and is perfect for those who enjoy the grape or enjoy rosés with character.
Medium-intensity salmon in color and slightly pétillant, this wine has an aromatic nose of red cherry, strawberry, pencil shavings, grapefruit-and-orange citrus and apple blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied wine delivers flavors suggested on the nose with cabernet franc notes of pencil shavings showing beautifully.
The wine is medium in acidity with a somewhat, creamy texture and bright, fruit notes through to the medium finish.
Bottle Note: Our 2014 rosé is a blend from three sites, each representing one of the central Finger Lakes: 65% cabernet franc (Kueka), 33% gamay noir (Cayuga), 2% pinot noir (Seneca).
