Bodegas Ego, Goru Verde 2013, Jumilla, Spain
Tasting Note: Monastrell (aka mourvedre) shines brightly in Spain where high temperatures are necessary to fully ripen the grape.
This wine made from organic grapes presents the wine in its classic form.
Deep-intensity ruby in color this wine has an aromatic nose of raspberry, blackberry compote, black plum, kirsch, cedar and clove baking spice.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied mourvédre shows ripe black fruit laced with velvety, medium-plus tannin and cedar.
A strong, full-throttle wine that shows bright fruit suggestive of partial carbonic maceration.
Chill before serving to brighten the fruit profile.
Bottle Note: 100% Monastrell with organically grown grapes.
