Cape Mentelle, Sauvignon Blanc Semillon 2018, Margaret River, Australia
Tasting Note: Margaret River’s answer to white Bordeaux is deliciously good with hints of the characteristic green notes that make “real” sauvignon blanc.
Pale-intensity lemon-green in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of green apple, freshly-cut grass, green pear and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied white blend has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a medium-plus finish.
The wine is straightforward with a creamy texture and would be a good accompaniment to a meal that needs a little extra oomph like grilled-chicken breast.
Botle Note: Cape Mentelle is one of the founding wineries of Margaret River. Since 1970 we have been exploring our pristine terroir to craft exceptional wines from this remote and beautiful peninsula on Australia’s south west coast. Discover our sauvignon blanc semillon, a signature of Margaret River. This distinctive, aromatic blend accentuates the unique flavors of both varieties. The vibrancy of sauvignon blanc echoes the character of our surrounding oceans with semillon providing the structure and finesse reflected in our ancient vineyard soil. From this encounter rises a vivacious and energetic wine, one of the earlier creations from Cape Mentelle. 53% Sauvignon Blanc, 47% Semillon.
