Chalk Hill, Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2016, Chalk Hill, California
Tasting Note: A sauvignon blanc with flavor intensity, body and lovely aromatics that is a standout and expresses varietal typicity at its best.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic, pronounced-intensity nose of quince, peach stone fruit, lychee, blossom, elderflower, grapefruit, lemon-citrus peel and yoghurt with a hint of dill.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus bodied sauvignon blanc delivers ripe, medium-plus intensity flavors suggested on the nose abounding with fruit and citrus.
Medium-plus acidity brings the flavor components together and percolates through the entire length of the taste ultimately completing with a medium-plus finish.
A sauvignon blanc that will wake you up from the flavor-free, sauvignon-blanc coma you may have slipped into unwittingly.
Bottle Note: Chalk Hill is located in the Chalk Hill appellation of the Russian River Valley. This wine is hand-crafted from grapes grown exclusively on the estate. Each variety is matched to specific sites and mesoclimates; gentle winemaking practices capture the diversity of each vineyard block, resulting in wines of distinction and elegance.
