Clos de la Roilette, Fleurie 2019, Beaujolais, France
Tasting Note: A Fleurie with depth and welcome notes of concentration.
Deep-intensity ruby in color, this wine has an aromatic, medium-plus-intensity nose of black plum, bruised raspberry, red currant, boysenberry, strawberry, blossom and red cherry.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied Fleurie has medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin ultimately completing with a raspberry-infused, medium-plus finish.
The wine is straightforward but not rushed.
Earthy notes in the midpalate combine with fruit restraint and present a somewhat-muted, yet elegant expression of the grape.
