Codorníu, Cuvée Clasico Cava, Catalonia, Spain

Tasting Note: A reserved cava that impresses with its understated character.

Pale-intensity gold in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of orange-citrus peel, apricot stone fruit, red apple, blossom and brioche.

On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cava presents restrained fruit flavors suggested on the nose along with caramel, toast and biscuit autolytic notes.

The wine is medium-plus in acidity and medium in flavor intensity and finish.

There is balance between the fruit and autolytic elements that embody fine winemaking.

Bottle Note: Codorníu is the story of a family that dates back to 1551, dedicated to growing and producing wine. A historical event occurred in 1872 when Josep Raventós produced the first bottle of cava using the traditional method in Sant Sadurni d’Anoia (Barcelona, Spain). Codorníu Clasico, a fresh and delicate cava with an elegant floral bouquet and hints of apple and toasted almonds. Bright pale yellow in color with fine persistent bubbles. Xarel-lo (34%), Macabeu (33%), Paralleda (33%).
