Cuvée Lions d’Or, White Blend 2014, France
Tasting Note: The type of lighter-styled, white wine blend you’d pick up in the store, not only because it has a pretty label, but also because it delivers on value and taste when you get home.
Pale-lemon yellow in color this wine has an aromatic nose of green apple, pear and lemon citrus with light notes of vanilla oak.
On the palate the dry, medium-minus bodied white blend is tart with a soft layer of oak riding underneath the green fruit which doesn’t overwhelm but compliments like a cleverly-worn broach.
Bottle Note: An authentic white blend from southwest France. The blend of Lion d’Or has been around for over 300 years and is found on dinner tables in the French countryside. A light, crisp white wine, that pairs nicely with light fares: chicken, fish and salads.
