Die Odenwälder Winzer Genossenschaft Vinum Autmundis Hessische Bergstraße Bereich Umstadt Cabernet Blanc 2014 Feinherb, Germany
Tasting Note: It’s ok if you’ve never come across a cabernet blanc.
Cabernet blanc is a crossing of cabernet sauvignon and an unknown hybrid grape variety mostly found in Germany and Switzerland.
Medium-intensity gold in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of orange citrus, Asian pear, golden apple, underripe nectarine and blossom with hints of freshly-cut grass.
On the palate the off-dry, full-bodied cabernet blanc has medium-plus-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a fruit-filled, medium-plus finish.
The wine is straightforward, uncomplicated and would complement many a spicy dish well.
