Domaine Bousquet, Malbec 2019, Gualtallary, Mendoza, Argentina
Tasting Note: A red-and-black-fruit-dominated malbec that speaks of sun and ripeness.
Deep purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of blackberry, blueberry puree, ripe summer raspberry and red currant.
On the palate the dry, full-bodied wine has medium-plus-intensity intensity flavors suggested on the nose with soft, medium tannin and some savory hints ultimately completing with a long finish.
Quintessential malbec, and organic to boot!
Bottle Note: Gaia, the Greek goddess of the earth, has been the Bousquet family’s inspiration since founding our winery in 1997 when we pioneered and cleared virgin land in the high reaches of Tupungato’s Gualtallary district. From the start, our Gaia wines have been crafted with a French winemaking sensibility and made from 100% organic fruit grown at 1,200m/4,000ft altitude. Argentina’s signature grape matures under brilliant sunshine and huge shifts in day-to-night temperatures. Gaia Malbec is made from our best hand-harvested fruit, offering sun-kissed sweet fruit framed by ripe tannins.
