Domaine de la Guilloterie, Tradition Saumur Champigny 2014, Loire, France
Tasting Note: A classic cabernet franc with less of the green-vegetable notes that sometimes characterizes Loire cabernet franc.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has an aromatic nose of red plum, cedar, black-tea leaf, raspberry and hints of green vegetable.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied cabernet franc delivers flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium-plus acidity and ripe, cedar-backed, medium-plus tannin.
There is balance between fruit and acidity.
Those who enjoy cabernet franc will find this pleasing.
Bottle Note: 90% Cabernet Franc, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. 10 months aging in thermos-regulated stainless steel tanks. Deep garnet, nearly black color. Intense and complex nose of ripe red and black fruits, with licorice notes. Domaine de la Guilloterie offers a suave, velvety and ample palate with round and chewy tannins. A delicious and fruity length with long-lasting fragrance. Such a gentle wine with smooth silky tannins and deep, ripe, generous fruit. Unique!
