Domaine de Mouscaillo, Limoux Blanc 2016, Languedoc-Roussillon, France
Tasting Note: A minerally, clean white blend with elements of limestone from the mid-to-back palate.
Pale-intensity lemon-green in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of green apple, lemon-citrus peel, nectarine stone fruit and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied white blend is medium in flavor intensity with a steely texture supported by medium-plus acidity and completing with a medium finish.
There are some notes of midpalate complexity.
A precise white blend that pleases.
Bottle Note: This Languedoc landscape has been cut out of sheer rock. Tucked between the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Pyrenees, the climate here, full of contrasts, is as the same time harsh and gentle. Limoux is true chardonnay country. Like all great terroirs for this grape, it draws its mineral qualities from the depths of limestone bedrock where the ocean deposited sea fossils some 50 million years ago.
