Domaine de Vaufuget, Vouvray 2015, Loire, France
Tasting Note: If you’re looking for a dry Vouvray with high acidity and filled with green fruit, this is your bottle.
Medium-intensity lemon in color, this wine has a nose of green apple, honeysuckle, pear, quince, peach stone fruit and lemon citrus peel.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied chenin blanc echoes flavors suggested on the nose with green fruit showing through most of the taste.
The wine has a touch of residual sweetness but still falls safely within the zone of dry thanks to the wine’s high acidity which lifts the flavor and balances the sweetness.
A perfect Vouvray for summer.
Bottle Note: This fresh medium dry white wine is made from the chenin blanc grape variety and has wonderful aromas of honey and acacia underlined with a subtle and refreshing acidity. Best served lightly chilled on its own or as an accompaniment to many savory dishes.
