Domaine Des Nugues, Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau 2020, France
Tasting Note: A jammy Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau with more depth and concentration than your usual.
Deep-intensity purple in color this wine has an aromatic nose of raspberry jam, pureed blueberry, black plum, red cherry, red currant, dried violet petal and blackberry.
On the palate the dry, medium-plus-bodied Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau has medium-plus-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and ripe, medium tannin.
The midpalate oscillates back and forth between raspberry and ripe, red cherry, ultimate completing with a floral, medium-plus finish.
If you’re used to only drinking basic Nouveau, take a step up and try some Beaujolais-Villages Nouveau to experience the more serious side of the new vintage.
