Domaine Ferret, Pouilly-Fuissé, Tete de Cru Le Clos 2012, F71960, France
Tasting Note: Elegant, well executed and well crafted, this golden-colored white burgundy has a nose of vanilla that is accompanied by the intense smokiness that often pairs with vanilla aromas in white wine.
The green to yellow fruit aromas including white grape and melon are secondary behind the tertiary aroma effects.
On the palate however, the tertiary aroma characteristics take backseat and fruit dominates with tartness and a slight bit of lemon citrus towards the finish.
This wine plays at the back of your tongue and is smooth from beginning to end.
Bottle Note: Based in the heart of the village of Fuiseé in southern Burgundy, Domaine Ferret, now owned by Maison Louis Jadot, was founded in 1840. Its wines which are made from chardonnay grapes grown in vineyards located in the heart of the property express both the diversity and purity of Pouilly-Fuissé.
