Domaine Gérard Neumeyer, Muscat Ottonel 2014, Alsace, France
Tasting Note: In France, they famously pair muscat with white asparagus in spring.
This bottle too would pair well with vegetable dishes because it has body and flavor that would complement with green vegetables.
Pale-intensity lemon in color, this wine has an aromatic medium-plus-intensity nose of orange citrus, green plum, bosc pear, quince, fresh-green-apple slice, nectarine and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied muscat delivers medium-intensity flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and completing with a slightly-tart, green-plum-infused, medium finish.
The wine is oily in texture and pleasing to the palate.
See an earlier review of this wine from 2016 when I had it in the winery tasting room when it was younger.
