Domaine Roche, Côtes du Rhone 2017, Rhone, France
Tasting Note: A Côtes du Rhone with solid, somewhat-reserved fruit and an elegant mouthfeel.
Deep-intensity purple in color, this wine has a medium-intensity nose of strawberry, rhubarb, red plum and blackberry with hints of forest floor and blossom.
On the palate the dry, medium-bodied Côtes du Rhone has medium-intensity, red-and-black-fruit flavors suggested on the nose supported by medium acidity and well-integrated, medium tannin ultimately completing with a medium finish.
There are punctuated moments of midpalate complexity.
The wine is very balanced and pleasing to the senses.
A Côtes du Rhone for any season.
Bottle Note: Domaine Roche is 20 hectares of vineyards, 50 years old. It is located in the Southern Rhône Valley, in Cairanne, on a terroir of clay-limestone. This wine is a blend of grenache, syrah and old vine carignan.
